About this presentation

During this presentation, Anil Yaman will introduce the concept of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and how is currently influencing us and its societal implications. He will answer key questions like: how society and science can benefit from AI? Which are AI downsides? Which are AI limitations and how they can be over-passed?.

Anil will also briefly mention the trends of this technology and the current project he is working on.

About Anil Yaman

Anil holds a B.S. degree from the Karadeniz Technical University (Turkey, 2010), and an M.S. degree from the City College of the City University of New York (USA, 2014). From 2013 to 2015, Anil held a research position at the Department of Biomedical Informatics in Columbia University. He is currently a PhD candidate in Mathematics and Computer Science at the Eindhoven University of Technology. His main areas of research interests are evolutionary computation, artificial neural networks, and swarm intelligence. He is particularly interested in biologically inspired computing models and approaches to learning. He is currently involved in the H2020-FETOPEN project “PHOENIX: Exploring the Unknown through Reincarnation and Co-evolution”.
