About these three presentations

1. Improve future learning experience with augmented reality, given by Jingya Li.
Augmented reality technology has great potential to support student’s learning experience in many ways, especially for students growing up in the digital age. The aim of this research is to explore the design space of applying AR in the educational context. In the presentation, the researcher will share her knowledge and ideas from both academic and practical perspectives, combined with the examples on the development and iteration of their current project “See Me Roar”.

About Jingya Li.

She is a software engineer from Beijing Jiao Tong University, China. She has two master’s degrees from Peking University in Computer Technology in China and Twente University in Technical Communication. Currently Jingya is a PhD candidate at the Industrial Design Department of the TU/e. Her research interests are in immersive technologies for children, AR game design, serious games, and collaborative and social learning.

2. Virtual & Mixed Reality given by Frederike Manders from Hyperspace Institute
During this presentation you will hear how Eindhoven is on the front line of developing many new applications of VR / MR / AR.

“If you have developed perfect virtual reality eventually you’re be able to simulate everything that a human can experience or imagine experiencing. It’s hard to imagine where you go from there”.

3. The future of popmusic and live experiences given by Stephanie van den Hurk from Effenaar

The Effenaar takes care of programming a wide range of pop music in Eindhoven, and has always facilitated (music) experiments. Effenaar Smart Venue builds on this by creating possibilities for innovative, high-tech experiments in the field of i.a. virtual and augmented reality. Together with artists, schools and companies from this region we research what the opportunities are. And from there, of course new music experiences will arise, causing even greater shows!
